Submission Guidelines

Freight Stories seeks to publish the finest contemporary fiction. Send us your stories, shorts, stand-alone novel excerpts, and novellas. We do not publish work that exists solely for readers of romance, mystery, crime, erotica, or other genres you can name; we do, however, happily consider works of literary fiction that employ the tools of successful genre fiction in their exploration of rich characters.

Fiction of all lengths and styles is welcome. We wish only that your work be driven by the exploration of the lives of believable, compelling characters, and that it help to illuminate, broaden, or in some way enrich its readers’ perspectives.

Work may be submitted via e-mail to submissions at freightstories.com. Please include your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address on all submissions.

We invite submissions from now through September 2008, and will welcome submissions during the months of March through September in subsequent years. We hope to respond to your work within three months.
